One of the leading causes of Plantar Fasciitis is also a simple solution: footwear. Old, worn in or poorly constructed footwear can be the cause of your pain, as you may not be getting the comfort and support your foot and needs. Fortunately, they have shoes built for better support in the arch of our feet, with more cushion as well. But the problem with cushioned shoes is that the more cushioned shoes are, the more heat they retain. Over-heated and sweaty feet are just as uncomfortable as wearing shoes that aren’t sturdy enough. But it’s hard to find a shoe that has all these qualities and doesn’t cost you a bundle.
Below are some brands of shoes that are known to help Plantar Fasciitis:
Rocker RX health and fitness walking shoes are great. They have a rocker-like sole on the bottom of the shoe that make walking automatically easier but also works leg muscles while giving you great support and traction. Also, the sock lining creates better air circulation for your foot, so it’s not sweaty and overwhelmed by all the padding. Despite all the padding, the materials of the shoe also cause it to be super light weight, so the shoe isn’t holding you down. These shoes can be bought for around 60 dollars, but that price is nothing compared to the benefits you will give to your foot and the comfort you will find these shoes provide.
Sometimes Plantar Fasciitis can be more so in your heel than the arch of your foot. For this, I recommend shoes that have springs and more cushioning in the heels, like sports/running shoes. Depending on the severity of your condition, you could just go out and buy a pair of shoes like this. Some brands include: New balance, Ecco, and Nike.
They now have a brand called Gravity Defyer. It has “specially engineered polymers that absorb shock” and “memory springs that propel you forward” Built into this shoe is a special cooling system that prevents feet from getting sweaty and sticky. Not only does this brand have sizes for length but they also provide sizes for your foot’s width to provide ultimate comfort.
All of the shoes named above are most running shoes, but they also make everyday shoes for work and dress as well. Some of these shoe brands include: Clarks, Dansko and Birkenstock. All of three of these shoes has above-standard arch support.
I personally like Birkenstock out of the three. The cork material molds right to your foot giving you the ulitmate comfort, and they last a long time but can get a bit pricey.
Ultimately, there is not one right shoe for every person with Plantar Fasciitis. As the pain and severity of the condition can vary, so can the aid of the shoe you have on your feet.
